Abstract(s)
Based on the premise of education, training, supervision and lifelong learning, in areas of knowledge as important as Health Care, the present work investigates the pedagogical practices that are being used in the field of Ozone Therapy. Aims to identify the "Training Needs of Portuguese Nurses in Ozone Therapy" and its general objective is to know the current situation regarding the competence of the Nurses in Ozone Therapy in the sense of proposing a Postgraduate Nursing Study Plan for Ozone Therapy. Ozone therapy is a technique that uses clinical ozone as a therapeutic agent in a large number of pathologies and in aesthetic applications. It is a totally natural therapy and if performed correctly, by qualified professionals and using reliable ozone generators, the risks are almost zero. The diagnosis of identification of training needs was carried out through an exploratory questionnaire survey, made for this purpose. In the sample, only participated Nurses with the title of Nurse recognized and valid before the Order of Nurse and who perform their activity in the scope of Ozone Therapy in Portugal. The questionnaire was made available online, and a letter of introduction and invitation was sent via e-mail, with the link for participation in the study. All information collected was analyzed, validated and targeted for statistical treatment. From the results obtained, it is worth noting that approximately 90% of respondents not only expressed an interest in attending training courses in Ozone therapy, but also identified priority areas of practice - aesthetics, neurology, general surgery and gynecology. Regarding the methods of application, consensus on training needs focused on paravertebral infiltration and insufflation. As a corollary of the study, for 95,8% of respondents, training in ozone therapy is essential for the acquisition of skills and makes a significant contribution to improving the daily practice of the nursing professional.
