Resumo(s)
O presente trabalho está relacionado com a criação e a compreensão
de um novo tipo de linguagem visual adotada atualmente – os emojis,
designadamente como a podemos enquadrar no mundo das tradições
portuguesas e como estas duas linguagens se adequam criando uma
nova forma de comunicação.
Pretende-se expor como se deu a origem desta linguagem em termos
históricos, a sua função contemporânea, focando a importância que
tem para o ser humano. Igualmente significativo é a compreensão
sobre como começou a haver uma abreviação abstrata que fez com
que passássemos a comunicar de forma mais rápida, passando a
haver um entendimento coletivo dos significados que dependem
muito do contexto e da nossa cultura visual, fazendo com que
passássemos a ser indivíduos que privilegiam um mundo visual e
simplificado. Por último, pretende-se compreender o impacto visual
dos emojis em termos de comunicação e a influência que têm na
cultura e nas tradições do povo português.
O processo de trabalho adotado baseou-se numa metodologia mista
com recursos a diferentes fontes, tais como livros, artigos e até
mesmo projetos sobre esta temática, de modo a compreender e fazer
a criação desta nova linguagem visual. O que pretendo com este
método de trabalho não é apenas tratar de assuntos relacionados com
“o que” as pessoas pensam, mas também tentar perceber “por que”
pensam assim.
This paper is related to the creation and understanding of a new type of visual language currently adopted - emojis, namely how we can frame it in the world of Portuguese traditions and how these two languages fit together, creating a new form of communication. We intend to expose how this language originated in historical terms and its contemporary function, focusing on its importance for human beings. Equally important is understanding how an abstract abbreviation that made us communicate faster started, with a collective understanding of the meanings that depend a lot on the context and our visual culture, making us become individuals who privilege a visual and simplified world. Finally, we intend to understand the visual impact of emojis in terms of communication and their influence on the culture and traditions of the Portuguese people. The work process adopted was based on a mixed methodology with resources from different sources, such as books, articles and even projects on this theme, to understand and create this new visual language. I intend with this working method not only to deal with issues related to "what" people think but also to understand "why" they think this way.
