Abstract(s)
quimioterápico do linfoma canino.
Lymphoma is a highly incident disease in the canine population, being one the most frequent hematopoietic tumour in this species. Being highly responsive to chemotherapy this is the current treatment of choice, and when correctly used and monitored, a significant increase in length and quality of life is observed. With the continuous study and understanding of the behaviour of this kind of tumour, new therapies have arised, such as Immunotherapy, radiotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. These new therapheutic strategies are used in conjunction with chemotherapy and aim to improve the therapeutic response and increasing survival time of patients, with a decrease in the adverse effects. Therefore, it is the aim of this paper to review all the new therapeutic strategies employed in Veterinary Medicine, along with a brief description of the classification, clinical presentation, diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment of canine lymphoma.
