Abstract(s)
O presente relatório, denominado de Relatório de Estágio de natureza profissional, é parte
integrante do curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, na área da Enfermagem à
Pessoa em Situação Crítica, da Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto.
O objetivo deste relatório prende-se com a apresentação do processo de desenvolvimento de
competências comuns e específicas, no domínio da Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica,
conforme estabelecido nos regulamentos n.º 140/2019 e nº429/2018 da Ordem dos Enfermeiros
e, como é natural, as competências que sustentam a obtenção do grau académico de mestre
(2º ciclo).
Este documento relata um percurso académico realizado no âmbito das Unidades Curriculares
de “Estágio de Natureza Profissional com Relatório” (Módulo I – 15 ECTS e Módulo II – 30 ECTS).
Para além de evidenciar o processo de desenvolvimento de competências, procede à
caracterização dos contextos clínicos (serviços / unidades) que funcionaram como “clínicas de
aprendizagem”, muito mais do que meros “campos de estágio”.
O estágio de natureza profissional (Módulo I e II), inserido no mestrado, teve como principal
objetivo o desenvolvimento de competências clínicas especializadas, com um foco particular na
pessoa em situação crítica com compromisso do sono. Desta forma, foi delineado e consolidado
um projeto de desenvolvimento profissional dirigido para a temática, considerada como pretexto
de aprendizagem. Esta temática não esgotou as atividades desenvolvidas; representou, antes,
uma área que garantiu alguma orientação e um rumo no caminho percorrido; sendo uma área
de atenção muito sensível aos cuidados de enfermagem, mesmo no contexto da assistência à
pessoa em situação crítica.
Este relatório está organizado em três partes principais. A primeira, centrada na caracterização
dos três contextos clínicos do estágio (Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos Polivalente, Serviço de
Urgência, Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos Coronários). A segunda secção corresponde a três
“estudos de caso” exemplificativos da conceção de cuidados à pessoa em situação critica, com
o necessário detalhe que alicerça o planeamento de cuidados. Por último, é apresentada uma
reflexão sobre a forma como as experiências vivenciadas e oportunidades de aprendizagem
contribuíram para o desenvolvimento de competências.
Os três contextos clínicos – campos de estágio – que tive oportunidade de experimentar, os
desafios que cada um colocou, a tutoria de que beneficiei e a orientação académica
disponibilizada revelaram-se cruciais para a expansão e aprofundamento de competências. A
metodologia de “reflexão sobre a ação e para a ação” mostrou-se adequada aos objetivos que governaram a aprendizagem e o desenvolvimento de competências. Aqui, os “estudos de caso”
representaram uma oportunidade de aprofundamento de competências clínicas essenciais.
O percurso realizado deixa bem evidente que, o desenvolvimento de competências é um
processo contínuo, que não se esgota em percursos académicos. Mas, por outro lado, a
formalidade e exigência colocadas, nos espaços formais de aprendizagem, permitem constituir
um portfólio de recursos e mecanismos que, no futuro, são a garantia da qualidade assistencial
à qual estou vinculada e, cada vez mais, consciencializada. Este percurso académico representa
um marco na minha trajetória, onde me foi possível adquirir um conjunto de ferramentas que
me serão muito úteis no meu exercício profissional.
This report, titled as “Professional Internship Report”, is an integral part of the Master's Degree Program in Medical-Surgical Nursing, specializing in Nursing Care for Critically Ill Patients, at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto. The objective of this report is to present the process of developing common and specific competencies in the field of Nursing Care for Critically Ill Patients, as established in regulations Nº. 140/2019 and Nº 429/2018 of the Ordem dos Enfermeiros, and naturally, the competencies that support the attainment of the master's degree (2nd cycle). This document describes an academic journey undertaken within the Curricular Units of "Professional Internship with Report" (Module I - 15 ECTS and Module II - 30 ECTS). In addition to highlighting the process of competency development, it characterizes the clinical contexts (services/units) that served as "learning clinics," rather than mere "internship sites." The professional internship (Modules I and II), part of the master's program, aimed primarily at developing specialized clinical skills, with a particular focus on critically ill patients with sleep disturbances. Thus, a project aimed at professional development was outlined and consolidated, focusing on this theme, considered as a pretext for learning. This theme did not exhaust the activities developed; rather, it represented an area that provided some guidance and direction in the journey, being a very sensitive area in nursing care, even in the context of caring for critically ill patients. This report is organized into three main parts. The first part focuses on characterizing the three clinical contexts of the internship (Polyvalent Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Coronary Intensive Care Unit). The second section consists of three exemplified "case studies" of care conception for critically ill patients, with the necessary detail supporting care planning. Finally, a reflection is presented on how the experiences and learning opportunities contributed to competency development. The three clinical contexts – internship sites – that I had the opportunity to experience, the challenges posed by each, the mentoring I received, and the academic guidance provided proved were crucial for expanding and deepening competencies. The methodology of "reflection on action and for action" proved suitable for the learning objectives and competency development. Here, the "case studies" represented an opportunity to deepen essential clinical competencies. The journey undertaken clearly demonstrates that competency development is a continuous process that does not end with academic paths. However, on the other hand, the formality and demands placed on formal learning spaces allow for the creation of a portfolio of resources and mechanisms that, in the future, ensure the quality of care to which I am committed and increasingly aware of. This academic journey represents a milestone in my career path, where I was able to acquire a set of tools that will be very useful in my professional practice.
