Abstract(s)
As atividades cirúrgicas
A tendência
geral foi a redução da PAM.
The internship at DOVET veterinary clinic lasted 12 weeks, starting on 02/19/2024 and ending on 05/15/2024. The targets were to apply the knowledge acquired during the theoretical component, reflect on the work carried out from a personal and professional development perspective, and perform tasks and activities in a work environment, preparing for an active life in the clinical and surgical care of companion animals. Of the various activities performed by the student, those in the surgical environment took up most of the time due to the cases of the clinic. These surgical activities, in summary, included the preparation of the patient and the operating room, anesthetic monitoring, and post-surgical follow-up. On the background, the student also attended to veterinary consultations, hospitalizations, and complementary diagnostic methods. The fact that the focus of the student activities was in the surgical environment allowed for the development of a study about the effect of the environment on the action of anesthetic drugs during pre-medication and induction. This report is divided into three main parts. The first part covers the theoretical foundations related to blood pressure and anesthetic drugs. The second part describes the activities carried out during the internship, with some numerical indicators. Finally, the data collected in the study are presented. he study involved 38 subjects, divided into 2 groups, exposed to different environments: hospitalization and consultation. Mean arterial pressure (MAP) variation was monitored in both groups. A trend was observed towards higher MAP values in the group exposed to the consultation environment. Furthermore, subjects with higher baseline MAP values tended to maintain elevated levels throughout the anesthetic period. The overall trend indicated a reduction in MAP.
