A violência no setor da saúde: a intervenção da Polícia de Segurança Pública na mitigação do problema

| dc.description.abstract | A violência contra profissionais de saúde é um problema globalmente reconhecido, que, também em Portugal, tem tido expressão. Esta violência ocorre de diferentes formas, sendo variáveis os autores, mas, sempre com consequências nefastas para as vítimas. No presente estudo efetuámos uma caraterização do setor da saúde em Portugal, analisando as medidas legislativas aprovadas para combater o fenómeno da violência contra os profissionais de saúde. Sendo a Polícia de Segurança Pública um dos garantes do Estado na defesa da legalidade democrática e tendo na sua área de responsabilidade muitas das Instituições do Serviço Nacional de Saúde, procurámos analisar o nível de envolvimento desta força de segurança para com o problema, percebendo, através da análise de documentação, legislação e de estudos nacionais e internacionais, de que forma pode a Polícia de Segurança Pública contribuir para a mitigação da violência no setor da saúde. Concluímos que a estratégia de trabalho em rede é mundialmente reconhecida como a mais efetiva para combater o fenómeno, deixando sugestões para ações futuras da Polícia de Segurança Pública. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Violence against healthcare professionals is a globally recognised problem, which also occurs in Portugal. This type of violence happens in different ways, with different perpetrators, but always with harmful consequences for the victims. In this study we made a characterisation of the health sector in Portugal, analysing the legislative measures approved to combat the phenomenon of violence against healthcare professionals. Since the Public Security Police (Polícia de Segurança Pública) is one of the effectors of the State in the defence of the democratic legality, it has in its area of responsibility many institutions of the National Health Service. We analysed the level of involvement of this type of security force towards the problem, and tried to understand how the Public Security Police can contribute to the mitigation of violence in the health sector through the analysis of documentation, legislation and national and international studies. We conclude that the networking strategy is globally recognised as the most effective one to combat this violence phenomenon, suggesting possible strategies for future actions of the Public Security Police. | |
