Abstract(s)
Air traffic control supervision is one of the most challenging functions an individual can have in the Air Force. It requires wisdom and leadership to integrate different personalities, abilities and experiences with the defined rules. When well executed, the Air Traffic Control team will be efficient and effective in the provision of Air Traffic Services. This study, conceptually limited to the comparison of non-operational complementary training, currently provided by the Air Traffic Squadrons in the Air Force to Air Traffic Controllers, had as its object the implementation of a course in the Air Force for Operational Supervisors of Air Traffic Control aiming standardization, flight safety and efficient use of human resources. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the current training provided is partially adequate, since there are differences in the training provided by the Air Traffic Squadrons, giving in generality, greater preponderance to the operational matters, relegating for second plan the subjects related with human factors, identified by EUROCONTROL. It was observed a consensus among the interviewees, regarding the relevance of this course, pointing out that the implementation would increase the culture of flight safety in the Air Force.
