Abstract(s)
perante o trabalho. São apresentadas implicações práticas, limitações e sugestões
para futuras investigações.
The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) and the individual characteristics (gender, age, education level, seniority, professional category). A study was carried out through applying a survey to the non-teaching staff (N = 127) of a Portuguese higher education institution. The sample consists of 127 professionals, mostly: female, between 40 and 49 years old, graduates or 12th grade, technical assistants or senior technicians, with high levels of seniority. The main results show that non-teaching professionals develop organizational citizenship behaviors, albeit of different types and levels, supported by some individual characteristics. In terms of implications, this research aims to contribute to the formulation and implementation of management strategies anchored in organizational citizenship behaviors, supporting the formulation of management systems centered on behavioral attitudes at work. Practical implications, limitations and suggestions for future research are presented.
