A segurança escolar consubstancia-se no esforço concertado entre vários atores. A Polícia
Nacional de Cabo Verde é responsável por garantir de forma permanente um ambiente
estudantil seguro. Os polícias adstritos ao Projeto Escola Segura têm de ser capazes de
conseguir uma aproximação aos cidadãos, por forma a adequar as medidas preventivas, e
assim responder aos novos desafios securitários. Pretendeu-se com a presente investigação
conhecer de que forma está implementado o Projeto Escola Segura na cidade da Praia.
Também procurou-se saber se o mesmo pode ser considerado um mecanismo de
aproximação à comunidade escolar capaz de melhorar a relação de confiança entre atores do
sistema educativo e a Polícia. Um dos objetivos deste trabalho foi compreender até que ponto
o Projeto Escola Segura tem-se mostrado eficaz na prevenção e redução do sentimento de
insegurança no ambiente escolar na cidade da Praia.
O Projeto Escola Segura pode ser e tem sido considerado um mecanismo de aproximação à
comunidade escolar, capaz de melhorar a relação de confiança entre atores do sistema
educativo e a Polícia.
School safety takes the form of a concerted effort by various actors. The Cape Verde National Police is responsible for permanently guaranteeing a safe student environment. The police officers assigned to the Safe School Project must be able to get closer to citizens in order to adapt preventive measures and thus respond to the new security challenges. The aim of this research was to find out how the Safe School Project is implemented in the city of Praia. We also wanted to find out whether it can be considered a mechanism for bringing the school community closer together, capable of improving the relationship of trust between the actors in the education system and the police. One of the aims of this work was to understand to what extent the Safe School Project has been effective in preventing and reducing feelings of insecurity in the school environment in the city of Praia.
