Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação visa promover a eficiência e a qualidade na recuperação da informação das e nas forças e serviços de segurança compreendidas no Ministério da Administração Interna.
A indexação é a operação técnica e específica da área das Ciências da Informação, que permite a uniformização da linguagem na pesquisa usada pelo utilizador e adotada pelo sistema de recuperação de informação. A qualidade da recuperação da informação depende de políticas de gestão e normalização da indexação e do controlo da terminologia.
As Ciências Policiais (Segurança Interna) possuem uma terminologia própria na identificação dos assuntos, pelo que esta investigação pretende lançar as directrizes para a elaboração de um microtesauro em Segurança Interna e num, futuro próximo, a implementação de uma política de indexação em todas as forças e serviços de segurança compreendidos no Ministério da Administração Interna.
As Ciências Policiais não se dissociam do contributo de outras ciências auxiliares – Direito, Sociologia, Ciência Política, História – e, como tal, a elaboração de uma linguagem documental – microtesauto – na área da Segurança Interna é uma tarefa que pressupõe o envolvimento de uma equipa multidisciplinar, constituída por bibliotecários, professores e especialistas. Pretendemos com esta investigação que as Ciências da Informação possam fazer parte deste universo multidisciplinar para uma melhor gestão da informação, em geral, e melhor gestão da segurança, em especial.
This dissertation aims to promote efficiency and quality regarding information retrieval from the security forces and services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Indexing is a technical and specific operation in the field of information sciences; wich allows the standardization of the user language in the research adopted by the information retrieval system. The quality of information retrieval depends on the policy management and standardization of indexation and control of the terminology. The Police Sciences (Internal Security) have a very specific terminology in identifying issues, reason why the aim of the research is to establish the guidelines for elaboration of a microthesaurus on Internal Security and in a new future, for the implementation of indexation policy within all security services and forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Police Science do not dissociate from the contribution of other auxiliary sciences – Law, Sociology, Political Sciences and History. That is why the development of a documentary language – microthesaurus – in the area of Internal Security is a task that requires the involvement of a multidisciplinary team, composed of librarians, professors and field experts. It is intention of this research to integrate Information Science in this multidisciplinary universe for a general better information and in particular for security management.
