Abstract(s)
A Extubação Não Planeada é um dos eventos mais comuns na pessoa em situação
crítica ventilada mecanicamente e constitui um indicador de qualidade da prestação de
cuidados de enfermagem. A sua ocorrência pode levar a complicações graves, com
comprometimento da segurança do doente, sendo imperioso, no contexto dos cuidados de
saúde, a implementação de medidas que potenciem a prevenção da extubação não
planeada.
No decorrer do Estágio Final, foi desenvolvida uma Intervenção Profissional Major,
descrita neste relatório, visando o incremento da segurança e qualidade dos cuidados,
através da implementação de estratégias promotoras da uniformização dos cuidados
relativos à prevenção e gestão extubação não planeada na pessoa entubada
orotraquealmente.
Com a realização deste relatório, foi também, elaborada uma análise e reflexão crítica
do processo de aquisição e desenvolvimento de competências comuns e específicas do
Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica - A Pessoa em Situação Crítica
bem como as de Mestre em Enfermagem.
Unplanned Extubation is one of the most common events in critically ill patients under mechanical ventilation and is an indicator of the quality of nursing care delivery. Its occurrence can lead to serious complications, compromising patient safety, thus it is imperative to implement measures to prevent unplanned extubation in health care settings. During the Final Internship, a Major Professional Intervention was developed, described in this report, aiming at increasing the safety and quality of care, through the implementation of strategies promoting the standardization of care regarding the prevention and management of unplanned extubation in the orotracheally intubated person. This report also included an analysis and critical reflection on the process of acquisition and development of common and specific skills of the Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing - The Person in Critical Condition, as well as those of the Master in Nursing.
