Abstract(s)
A Indústria Aeronáutica tem sofrido nos últimos anos um enorme desenvolvimento
tecnológico. O cockpit simples, muito básico, unicamente com os instrumentos essenciais
do voo (analógicos), transformou-se num cockpit moderno, complexo, com muitos painéis
digitais e sistemas de voo automatizados.
A automatização contribuiu de forma considerável para o avanço da Aviação.
Paralelamente a esta situação, verificou-se também, uma maior segurança em voo, já que
os próprios sistemas passam a ser mais fiáveis além de serem também auto controladores.
Porém quanto mais automatizados são os procedimentos e os sistemas, menor é a
necessidade de intervenção do piloto nesta área mecânica. De facto, o piloto dos nossos
dias é mais um gestor de sistemas e um decisor a bordo, do que propriamente um operador
dos sistemas básicos do voo.
Efectuar uma selecção de acordo com um perfil predefinido é muito importante,
pois torna-se necessário identificar no indivíduo, não só a apetência para o voo, como a
existência de capacidades e características particulares e importantes no mundo
aeronáutico. Toda a dinâmica do voo militar e o meio envolvente exigem do piloto não só
um nível de conhecimentos elevado, como também uma dedicação completa à missão.
Hoje em dia existe uma preocupação muito elevada na área dos factores humanos, para que
o resultado da relação Homem e máquina seja eficiente e os objectivos possam ser
alcançados de forma eficaz.
Assim, o meio envolvente afecta o comportamento do piloto. A tecnologia é
aplicada no cockpit de forma pensada, toda a ergonomia tem de ser compatível com a
capacidade do piloto militar em interpretar a informação disponível, no mais curto espaço
de tempo possível. As suas acções têm de ser executadas no momento certo e um atraso
pode pôr em causa a continuação da missão, ou os objectivos a atingir.
O perfil psicológico do piloto militar dos nossos dias está orientado para uma
vertente gestora de sistemas, fruto da aplicação directa das novas tecnologias na Indústria
Aeronáutica. Abstract: The aeronautic industry has been having an enormous development in the latest
years. The simple cockpit, quite basic, with only the essential flying (analogical)
instruments has become a modern cockpit, complex, with many digital displays and
automatic flying systems.
Automation has considerably contributed to Aviation development.
Simultaneously, flying has become safer, once the systems have become more reliable and
they also are able to control themselves.
On the other hand, the more automatized the procedures and systems are, the less is
the need of the pilot to take action in the mechanics field. In fact, the actual pilot is more a
kind of a system manager and the person who decides things on board, than an operator of
the basic flying systems.
It is very important to select accordingly to the pre-defined profile, because it is
necessary to identify in each individual not only one’s ability to fly, but also one’s capacity
and the existence of important individual characteristics in the aeronautic world.
All the dynamics in a military fly and all its surroundings demands very deep
knowledge and complete dedication of the pilot to the mission.
Nowadays, there is a huge concern in what it is related to the human factor, to allow
the relationship between men and machines to be efficient and to make possible to reach
the objectives also in an efficient way.
In fact, everything around the pilot affects his behaviour. All the technology applied
in the cockpit is carefully planned and all ergonomics has to be compatible with the
military pilot capacity to interpret all the available information, in the shortest time
possible. His actions have to be executed in the right moment and any delay can put at
stake the mission completion or the objectives to reach.
The profile of an actual military pilot is now more oriented to systems management
due to the direct appliance of new technologies in the aeronautics industry.
