A Talassoterapia tem registado um desenvolvimento assinalável a nível mundial. A cura que vem do mar parece atrair cada vez mais o homem em busca dos benefícios que este elemento vivo lhe pode proporcionar.
O presente estudo incide sobre a Talassoterapia em Portugal. A escolha do tema impõe-se pela situação geográfica privilegiada do território nacional, detentor de uma extensa faixa costeira. Esta análise tem por objectivo conhecer a oferta turística de Talassoterapia em Portugal.
A fase inicial do trabalho inclui a revisão da literatura, de modo a elaborar uma abordagem teórica sobre a temática do Turismo de Saúde e Bem-Estar e sobre a Talassoterapia. Tendo como base o enquadramento teórico para o desenvolvimento do trabalho prático, procedeu-se à análise dos sites dos estabelecimentos de Talassoterapia com o objectivo de conhecer a oferta nacional de Talassoterapia e o posicionamento
destes estabelecimentos no âmbito do Turismo de Saúde e Bem-Estar. Depois da fase de recolha de informação, foram elaboradas matrizes com diversas variáveis, de forma a obter conclusões sobre a oferta do produto turístico em estudo.
O estudo dos dados obtidos permitiu extrair conclusões sobre os diferentes estabelecimentos com oferta de Talassoterapia existentes em Portugal e a oferta por eles disponibilizada, mostrando um panorama desta área do Turismo de Saúde e Bem-Estar.
There has been an outstanding development in Thalassotherapy worldwide. It seems the cure offered by the sea is increasingly appealing to man in search of the benefits this living element can provide. This study focuses on Thalassotherapy in Portugal. The country’s privileged territorial geography, with its vast coast, made the selection of this topic most compelling. This analysis aims at studying the Portuguese tourist offer in the area of Thalassotherapy. The initial step of the study includes a literature review upon which to build a theoretical approach to the topic of Health and Well-Being Tourism and Thalassotherapy. Once a theoretical framework to guide practical application has been identified, a review of the websites of thalassotherapy venues was the next step in searching for domestic offer in Thalassotherapy and how these venues stand within the context of Health and Well-Being Tourism. After collecting the data, matrices with several variables have been formulated in order to obtain findings on the topic of interest and how these venues fit in the context of Health and Well-Being Tourism. Analysis of collected data allowed drawing conclusions on the different Thalassotherapy venues available in Portugal and services they offer, reflecting more or less fluctuations between prevention/cure and well-being and leisure.
