Abstract(s)
Os recentes progressos na saúde, na sociedade em geral e na tecnologia, têm conduzido a
novas formas de estar e comunicar. A doença oncológica continua a ser uma das doenças
mais temidas, pela associação à morte e ao sofrimento. A evolução da comunicação veio
promover a disseminação da informação sem constrangimentos horários e/ou
geográficos, facilitando a interação e partilha de experiências, como a vivência da doença
oncológica.
Ao estudar o processo de construção da rede de ajuda mútua ao longo das transições
vivenciadas pela pessoa com doença oncológica que tem blogue, procurámos analisar os
efeitos, na pessoa e na sociedade, da rede social construída a partir da ajuda mútua
emergente da relação estabelecida através do blogue.
As escolhas metodológicas recaíram num estudo de natureza qualitativa, com recurso à
Grounded Theory.
Para a resposta pretendida considerou-se os dados da primeira fase do estudo
(identificação das pessoas com doença oncológica com blogue, a análise estrutural da
rede social) e centrou-se a análise no estudo da narrativa dos posts do blogue da pessoa
considerada como mais ativa ou dominante, bem como na realização e análise de
entrevista aos elementos identificados como elementos dominantes ma rede social virtual.
Os efeitos sociais da rede na pessoa passam pela emoção e saudade, o atribuir sentido
positivo à doença e à rede, à criação de laços de amizade para a vida e no encarar da
doença e ultrapassar as dificuldades. Os efeitos na sociedade passam por diversas
manifestações artísticas, destacando-se o teatro, que levou a que fosse notícia nacional e
internacional, a que fomentassem eventos sociais e a procura e estabelecimento de
parcerias. A rede física e a sua coesão, com o objetivo de ajuda mútua, é uma realidade
atual após mais de dez anos da criação do primeiro blogue da rede em estudo.

Oncological disease remains one of the most feared diseases, by association with death and suffering. The evolution of communication promoted the dissemination of information without time and/or geographical constraints, facilitating the interaction and sharing experiences, such as the experience of oncological disease. In studying the process of building the mutual help network thought the transitions experienced by the person with cancer who has a blog, we intend to analyze the effects, in person and in society, of the social network built from the mutual help emerging from the relationship established through the blog. The methodological choices fell into a qualitative study using the Grounded Theory. For the intended answer, data from the first phases of the study (identification of the people with cancer disease with a blog, structural analysis of the social network) were considered and the analysis was based on the study of the narrative of the blog posts of the person considered as more active or dominant, as well as in the performance and analysis of interview to the elements identified as dominant elements in the virtual social network. The social effects of the social network in the person go through the emotion and nostalgia (saudade), to assign a positive sense to the disease and to network, to create bonds of friendship for the life and to face the disease and overcome the difficulties. The effects on society go through various artistic manifestations, highlighting the theater, which led to national and international news, which fostered social events and the search and establishments of partnerships. The physical network and its cohesion, with the objective of mutual help, is a reality after more than ten years of the creation of the first blog of the network under study.
