| dc.description.abstract | A procura da estética perfeita tornou se no maior objetivo da Medicina dentária. A Beleza do sorriso não é só constituída pela forma e posição dos dentes mas também pelas características do tecido gengival e da conformação dos lábios. O sorriso gengival é um dos problemas dos pacientes pois influencia as relações sociais, a autoestima e confiança dos mesmos. O termo sorriso gengival refere-se a uma condição não-patológica onde existe a exposição de mais de 3 milímetros de tecido gengival durante o sorriso. Atualmente na medicina dentária para que exista uma correção da linha do sorriso terá de existir uma abordagem multidisciplinar envolvendo Periodontologia, Cirurgia, Dentisteria e até Implantologia de forma a ir ao encontro das exigências estéticas e do tecido periodontal do paciente. Para a correta abordagem terapêutica o diagnóstico correto é essencial para que possa ser escolhido o tratamento ideal e a necessidade ou não de cirurgia. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The search for the perfect esthetic became one of the biggest goals in dental treatment. The beauty of the smile is not only constituted by the shape, position of the teeth but also based on the characteristics of the gingival tissue and conformation of the lips. Gummy smile is one of the complaints of the patients, since such a situation can influence self-esteem and social relationships. The term gingival smile refers to a non pathological condicion where there is exposition of 3 millimeters or more of gingival tissue during the smile. Nowadays in dental treatment for a correct correction of the smile line there is a need for interdisciplinary treatment involving Periodontology, Dentistry and Implantology reaching the esthetical demands and periodontal needs of the patient. For a correct therapeutic approach a correct diagnosis is essential so the ideal treatment is chosen and evaluated the necessity of surgery or not. | pt_PT |
