O papel da Artilharia Antiaérea na NATO, caso de Estudo: Exército Português

dc.description.abstractO presente Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada tem como objetivo analisar as capacidades da Artilharia Antiaérea do Exército Português, no contexto do North Atlantic Treaty Organization Integrated Air and Missile Defense System e do Sistema de Defesa Aérea Nacional, face às ameaças aéreas atuais. Possui quatro objetivos específicos, nomeadamente em identificar as possibilidades e limitações Ground-Based Air Defense e Surface-Based Air and Missile Defense, identificar as capacidades da Artilharia Antiaérea, atuais e futuras, do Exército Português, identificar as capacidades antiaéreas das Forças Armadas, atuais e futuras, contra ameaças previstas no Sistema de Defesa Aérea Nacional, e, identificar as capacidades antiaéreas da North Atlantic Treaty Organization, atuais e futuras, contra as ameaças previstas no North Atlantic Treaty Organization Integrated Air and Missile Defense System. A metodologia empregue incluiu uma análise documental e entrevistas a especialistas na área do tema do trabalho. Através da metodologia foram identificadas as principais capacidades, possibilidades, limitações e lacunas na Defesa Aérea. A cooperação e a interoperabilidade entre os países da North Atlantic Treaty Organization continuam a ser desafios, principalmente com os conflitos atuais da Rússia-Ucrânia e de Israel-Palestina. Além disso, para se acompanhar a evolução das ameaças aéreas, como o facto de já existirem ameaças aéreas hipersónicas, é necessária uma revisão e melhoria contínua das Diretivas Operacionais e das capacidades da Artilharia Antiaérea. Isto é necessário para se integrarem permanentemente com o North Atlantic Treaty Organization Integrated Air and Missile Defense System e o Sistema de Defesa Aérea Nacional, de forma a garantir uma Defesa Aérea mais integrada e eficaz dentro da estrutura da North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A Força Aérea Portuguesa também está a planear a aquisição de novos caças e radares, o que indica também um compromisso para melhorar a Defesa Aérea.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThis Applied Research Project aims to analyze the capabilities of the Portuguese Army's Anti-Aircraft Artillery, in the context of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Integrated Air and Missile Defense System and the National Air Defense System, in the face of current air threats. It has four specific objectives, namely to identify the possibilities and limitations of Ground-Based Air Defense and Surface-Based Air and Missile Defense, to identify the current and future anti-aircraft artillery capabilities of the Portuguese Army, to identify the current and future anti-aircraft capabilities of the Armed Forces against threats envisaged in the National Air Defense System, and to identify the current and future anti-aircraft capabilities of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization against threats envisaged in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Air and Missile Defense System. The methodology used included document analysis and interviews with experts in the issue. The methodology identified the main capabilities, possibilities, limitations, and gaps in Air Defense. Cooperation, and interoperability between the countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization continue to be a challenge, especially with the current Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Palestine conflicts. Furthermore, to keep up with the evolution of aerial threats, such as the fact that hypersonic aerial threats already exist, it is necessary to continually review and improve the Operational Directives and the capabilities of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery. This is necessary to integrate them permanently with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Integrated Air and Missile Defense System and the National Air Defense System, to guarantee a more integrated and effective Air Defense within the framework of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The Portuguese Air Force is also planning to acquire new fighter jets and radars, which also indicates a commitment to improving Air Defense.pt_PT
