Abstract(s)
The combination of information technologies and knowledge, contributes to the emerging of alternative capacities, transforming organizations and people. Such combination requires modern organizations to invest in the development of technological assets, in the development and recognition of the competences of their human resources. The present study paper assumes particular relevance toward contributing to the interoperability between the Portuguese Army Education and Individual Training Certification System in alignment with the NATO, regarding the obligations with the National and the European Qualifications Framework. To this end, having the Portuguese Army Training System as a study object, inductive reasoning was followed, based on a qualitative strategy, with a case study research design, using documental analysis and semi-structured interviews by email. As the main contribution to knowledge, it was possible to verify that the current Portuguese Army Training System is compatible with the E&IT NATO, having as central points of convergence, the System Approach model, the quality management system and the Course Document model. The Portuguese Army courses applied to ETOC will receive the NATO Listed classification, which may evolve to NATO Selected or Approved, depending on the NATO training requirements and the NATO accreditation level of the Education Training Facilities that the Portuguese Army may constitute.
