Abstract(s)
a nível mundial ( (Bonner, et al., 2014); (Johnson, et al., 2015).
O enfermeiro especialista, segundo as competências comuns do Enfermeiro
The increased incidence of chronic kidney disease has become a global health problem, affecting approximately 10% of the adult population, associated with an increased prevalence of diabetes, hypertension and obesity worldwide ((Bonner, et al., 2014); (Johnson, et al., 2015)). The costs of renal function replacement therapies, regardless of country, make chronic kidney disease one of the most expensive diseases (Johnson, et al., 2015). In all stages of the disease, a person with chronic kidney disease needs to spend time on health management, including changes in diet, lifestyles, medication management and compliance with routine consultations (Bonner, et al., 2014). In this way, a person's ability to manage his or her own illness enables the prevention and reduction of the progression of chronic kidney disease (Johnson, et al., 2015). This internship report aims to describe the activities developed to achieve the competencies of Nurse Specialist in Medical Surgical Nursing, throughout the internship held, of the 10th Master's Degree in Nursing, area of specialisation in Medical Surgical Nursing, with specific area of intervention in Nephrologic Nursing. The specialist nurse, according to the common competences of the Specialist Nurse, defined by the Order of Nurses, "is the one who is recognised as having scientific, technical and human competence to provide specialised nursing care in the areas of specialisation in nursing" (Regulation no. 140/2019, 2019). In the absence of competencies defined for the specific area of Nephrologic Nursing, the competencies defined by the European Association of Nurses on Dialysis and Renal Transplantation, which accompany the person with renal disease, will be used, from the initial stages until there is a need for treatment to replace renal function. In order to respond to the need for research, a “scoping” review entitled "Nursing Consultation: the role of nurses in the prevention of the progression of kidney disease - “scoping” review" has been developed with the aim of understanding the role of nurses in educating and promoting self-management of the disease, making it possible to delay the need for techniques to replace renal function.
