A família e o trabalho são pilares fundamentais para o equilíbrio na vida dos militares, podendo na sua ausência, vir a enfrentar consequências negativas na relação com a sua família, bem-estar psicológico, e consequentemente no seu grau de comprometimento organizacional (CO) para com a instituição.
Optou-se por definir como objeto da investigação, a relação trabalho-família (RTF) e o CO, dos militares da Marinha Portuguesa (MP), procurando o problema subjacente à investigação: De que forma a RTF influencia ou é influenciada pelo grau de CO percebido pelos militares da MP?
O objetivo deste estudo, é analisar a perceção intersubjetiva pessoal dos militares da MP, face à relação entre RTF e o CO.
Alicerçado num raciocínio dedutivo, numa estratégia quantitativa de desenho transversal, do tipo estudo de caso, obtiveram-se 884 questionários válidos do universo dos militares da MP, onde se pretendeu analisar a RTF como variável bidirecional e o CO nas suas diferentes dimensões.
Os resultados permitem concluir que no contexto da MP, ambas as variáveis se correlacionam de diferentes formas, destacando-se a correlação moderada negativa entre a interferência negativa trabalho-família e a dimensão afetiva do CO, sugerindo a implementação de medidas de facilitação da RTF, como forma de potenciar o CO dos militares da MP. Abstract: The family and work are fundamental pillars for the balance in the life of the military, and in their absence they may face negative consequences in the relationship with their family, psychological well-being, and consequently in their degree of organizational commitment (CO) to the institution.
We chose to define as the object of the investigation, the work-family relationship (RTF) and the CO, of the Portuguese Navy (MP) military, seeking to know the problem underlying the investigation: How does the RTF influence or is influenced by the degree of CO perceived by the military of the MP?
The objective of this study is to analyze the personal intersubjective perception of the military of the MP, given the relationship between RTF and the CO.
Based on a deductive reasoning, a quantitative strategy of transversal design, like a case study, 884 valid questionnaires obtained from the MP's military universe, where the RTF analyzed as a bidirectional variable and the CO in its different dimensions.
The results allow the conclusion that in the context of the MP, both variables correlate in different ways, highlighting the moderate negative correlation between the negative work-family interference and the affective dimension of the CO, suggesting the implementation of measures to facilitate the RTF, as a way to enhance the CO of the military of the MP.
