O furto por carteirista pode influenciar o fenómeno do turismo e consequentemente atingir
a economia Portuguesa em virtude de o turismo se apresentar atualmente como um dos
principais setores económicos.
Pese embora nos últimos anos se encontre em declínio, o furto por carteirista foi ainda assim
o crime mais participado na cidade de Lisboa em 2018. Da análise da estatística criminal
referente ao ano de 2018 foi efetuada uma descrição do fenómeno quanto ao momento e
local da ocorrência bem como quanto ao tipo de vítima e tipo de suspeito, consoante as
variáveis idade, género e nacionalidade.
O Comando Metropolitano de Lisboa da Polícia de Segurança Pública é responsável pela
segurança da cidade de Lisboa e, portanto, pela prevenção criminal deste fenómeno. A
resposta atual traduz-se num policiamento diversificado em vários tipos de patrulhamento,
quer quanto aos meios de transporte, quer quanto às valências policiais, sendo de destacar o
projeto Lisboa Destino Seguro e o programa Hospitalidade Segura.
Não obstante, são propostas outras sugestões de medidas de prevenção criminal, policiais e
não policiais, nalguns casos com necessidade de recurso a parcerias para a sua eficaz
concretização, mas que podem complementar a atual resposta policial.
Pickpocketing may influence the tourism phenomenon and therefore reach the Portuguese economy due tourism is currently one of the main economic sectors. Although pickpocketing has been declining over the last years, it was still the most participated crime in Lisbon in 2018. From the analysis of the criminal statistics for the year 2018, a description of the phenomenon was made regarding the time and place of occurrence as well as to the type of victim and type of suspect, depending on the variables of age, gender and nationality. The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police is responsible for the security of Lisbon and for the criminal prevention of this phenomenon as well. The current response consists into a diversified policing of various types of patrols, both in terms of means of transportation and police skills, with emphasis on the Lisbon Safe Destination project and the Safe Hospitality program. Nonetheless, other suggestions for criminal prevention measures, both police and non police, were proposed, in some cases requiring the use of partnerships for their effective implementation, but which may complement the current police response.
