Abstract(s)
enfermagem presenciais e follow up telefónico.
No último estágio
Cancer disease remains the second leading cause of death in Portugal. Advances in cancer treatment allow a large number of drugs to be administered orally. The change in the way patients receive their therapy has altered the way of caring in oncology. It has drawn the attention of health professionals to monitoring adherence to therapy and screening for adverse effects, which requires a change in the way nurses educate, monitor, and follow up on patients. Responding to a gap identified in clinical practice, and combining scientific evidence, the possibility emerged to develop a project that would answer the research question: What are the nursing interventions for cancer patients undergoing oral antineoplastic therapies in nursing teleconsultation? This project aims to promote the improvement of care in the servisse where | work and develop competencies as a Nurse Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing, with a focus on Oncology Nursing and Master's Degree. The methodology applied was the project methodology, with a scoping review and the completion of three internships in a hemato- oncology day hospital setting, which included face-to-face nursing consultations and telephone follow-up. The strategies used included participant observation of nursing practice; collaboration and performance of first face-to-face consultations and subsequent nursing consultations (follow-up); sharing of experiences and reflection on significant events. In the last internship, the implementation of the nursing teleconsultation to cancer patients undergoing oral antineoplastic therapies was carried out in the servisse where | work, with the development of a specific procedure and a support manual for the nursing team (approved by the quality office), culminating in this internship report.
