Este trabalho representa uma ferramenta essencial, reunindo uma grande quantidade de informação no domínio da prevenção situacional em postos de abastecimento de combustíveis. A sua grande originalidade consiste em oferecer um complemento e responder às necessidades de quem opera/ labora nestes locais, fornecendo-lhe, em simultâneo, informação, formação e intervenção.
A informação crucial aqui apresentada, fruto de uma longa investigação, quer teórico-conceptual, apoiado em estudos de autores nesta matéria, quer empírica, através de dados cedidos pelas Associações e pelos Directores de Segurança das principais redes de combustíveis em Portugal, pela Polícia Judiciária e pela PSP, permite caracterizar e identificar os períodos mais susceptíveis de ocorrer um crime de roubo nestes locais, e desencadear uma resposta emergente, quer através dos sistemas de protecção activa e passiva, quer através da intervenção policial, em particular da PSP.
This work represents an essential tool which contains a large amount of information related to situational crime prevention in filling stations. It is an original work because it both offers a complement and answers the needs of the people who work there by supplying them with information, knowledge and the necessary skills to intervene. The crucial information presented in this work is the result of a long theoretical research, supported by studies of well-known authors who investigated this subject, as well as the result of an empirical research based on data provided by the Security Directors of the main fuel nets in Portugal, by “Polícia Judiciária” (Criminal Investigation Police in Portugal) and “PSP” (Public Security Police) and it allows us to identify and characterize periods when a crime or a robbery is more likely to occur. Consequently, it is possible to answer more efficiently by using the active and passive protection systems or by means of police intervention, particularly by PSP.
