A sustentabilidade deve ser considerada como um objetivo de negócio, pois o seu
valor é diretamente influenciado pelos impactos positivos e negativos que a organização/empresa pode ter através das suas atividades, produtos e serviços. Desta forma, a sustentabilidade contribui fortemente para um bom funcionamento de uma organização/empresa. Para alcançar o desenvolvimento sustentável, não basta plantar árvores ou economizar energia elétrica e/ou água, é necessário ter conhecimento estruturado dos impactos tais como os impactos sociais, ambientais, económicos, positivos e negativos, que poderão ser criados na organização/empresa. O grupo Marmòris é gerido por uma família que, há várias gerações, se encontra ligada à indústria dos mármores. Porém sempre tiveram o sonho de se iniciar atividade no setor do turismo e assim surgiram os hotéis Marmòris. O grupo é constituído atualmente por um hotel em Vila Viçosa e dois alojamentos locais em Sintra. O objetivo principal do presente relatório é descrever todo o trabalho realizado durante o período de estágio, tratando-se de um processo no qual são colocadas em prática todas, grande parte das competências adquiridas ao longo do primeiro ano de mestrado. Por sua vez, o objetivo do estágio é contribuir para a obtenção da certificação de sustentabilidade turística concebida pela Biosphere Sustainable for Hotels e realizar uma candidatura ao programa Green Key em nome do Alentejo Marmòris Hotel & Spa.
Sustainability should be considered a business objective, as its value is directly influenced by the positive and negative impacts that the organisation/company can have through its activities, products, and services. In this way, sustainability makes a strong contribution to the smooth running of an organisation/company. To achieve sustainable development, it's not enough to plant trees or save electricity and/or water; it's necessary to have structured knowledge of the impacts, such as the positive and negative social, environmental, and economic impacts that could be created in the organisation/company. The Marmòris group is run by a family that has been involved in the marble industry for generations. However, they always had the dream of starting an activity in the tourism sector and so the Marmòris hotels were born. The group currently consists of a hotel in Vila Viçosa and two local lodges in Sintra. The main aimof this report is to describe all the work carried out during the internship period, which is a process in which all the skills acquired during the first year of the master's programme are put into practice. In turn, the aim of the internship is to contribute to obtaining the tourism sustainability certification designed by Biosphere Sustainablefor Hotels and to apply to the Green Key programme on behalf of the Alentejo Marmòris Hotel & Spa.
