Análise do potencial efeito da utilização do plasma seminal sintético na inseminação artificial da porca reprodutora

| dc.description.abstract | A inseminação artificial (IA) é uma tecnologia de reprodução assistida, frequentemente utilizada na produção de suínos. No entanto, com a aplicação desta técnica, o efeito macho é reduzido não havendo estimulação da porca reprodutora por parte do varrasco. Ainda na IA, há redução do volume de plasma seminal pois este é rejeitado quando ocorre a recolha de sémen, podendo a sua ausência influenciar a produtividade reprodutiva da porca. O objetivo do trabalho foi verificar se a utilização prévia à IA do plasma seminal sintético Predil MR-A® influencia o desempenho reprodutivo da porca. Para tal dividiu-se a amostra em dois grupos com 69 porcas cada. No grupo tratado fez-se uma administração intrauterina de 30 ml do plasma seminal sintético e, em seguida, a inseminação com uma dose de sémen de 80 ml com 3×109 espermatozoides. No outro grupo (controlo) fez-se a administração intrauterina de 30 ml de diluidor MR-A® e, em seguida, a inseminação da dose de sémen com volume e concentração idênticas. Os parâmetros analisados foram a fertilidade, nados vivos, nados mortos, nados mumificados e nados totais. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que o uso do plasma seminal sintético (PSS) não influenciou (p˃0.05) o desempenho reprodutivo da porca. Contudo o mês de parto influenciou o número de nados totais e de nados vivos (p˂0.01) que foi superior no mês de Janeiro. Igualmente, a paridade das porcas teve um efeito significativo (p˂0.01) no número de leitões nascidos mortos que aumentou 0.198 por cada parto a mais. A fertilidade não foi influenciada por nenhum dos efeitos estudados, observando-se valores muito semelhantes nos dois grupos (controlo: 94.03% vs. tratado: 94.12%). | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Artificial insemination (AI) is an assisted reproductive technology frequently used in swine production. However, by applying this technique, the male effect is reduced and there is no stimulation of the sow by the breading boar. In addition, in AI, there is the reduction of seminal plasma volume as it is rejected during the collection of semen. The productivity of the sow can be influenced by this absence. The aim of the work was to determine whether the use of synthetic seminal plasma Predil MR-A® prior to IA has an influence in the reproductive performance of the sow. For that, the sample was divided into two groups of 69 sows each. In the treated group, intrauterine administration of 30 ml of synthetic seminal plasma was done, followed by the insemination of the semen dose 80 ml, whose concentration was of 3×109 spermatozoa. In the other group (control) an intrauterine administration of 30 ml MR-A® extender was made, followed by the insemination of an identical sperm dose in volume and concentration. The analyzed parameters was fertility, live births, stillbirth, borns mummified and total births. The analysis of the results showed that the use of synthetic seminal plasma (SSP) didn´t affected (p>0.05) the reproductive performance of the sow. However, the delivery month interfered in the number of total births and live births (p>0.01), which was higher in January. Likewise, the parity of sows had a significant effect (p>0.01) in the number of stillbirths piglets born, which increased 0.198 per each delivery. Fertility was not influenced by the studied parameters. The observed values were very similar in both groups (control: 94.03% vs. treated: 94.12%). | pt_PT |
