A elaboração deste Relatório pretendeu relatar o percurso desenvolvido ao longo do estágio de natureza profissional englobado no Mestrado em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica com vista à aquisição das competências específicas e comuns definidas pela Ordem dos Enfermeiros para a atribuição do título de Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica.
A temática central deste trabalho é “Um olhar sobre a Família: Conceções e Intervenções do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica”, constituindo a Família, um eixo estruturante na construção do presente relatório. Todavia, o estágio foi dirigido a todas as competências do Enfermeiro especialista em Enfermagem de saúde mental e psiquiátrica, tendo sido desenvolvidas igualmente intervenções noutros âmbitos de atuação, refletindo a abrangência do papel deste profissional.
O relatório encontra-se organizado em três partes principais, correspondendo, a nosso ver, a três dimensões fundamentais do saber profissional do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica. Uma dimensão teórica, em que apresentaremos uma revisão da literatura e do estado da arte acerca da temática transversal, dos Modelos Teóricos de Enfermagem que sustentaram a nossa prática, o Processo de conceção de cuidados na abordagem à família, como contexto e cliente de cuidados, bem como as modalidades de intervenção especializadas dirigidas à Família, nos diferentes níveis de atuação. Uma dimensão prática na qual apresentaremos a trajetória desenvolvida ao longos dos estágios nos diferentes contextos clínicos, explanando as atividades desenvolvidas, sempre com base no processo de enfermagem - avaliação de necessidades, atividade diagnóstica, diagnósticos de enfermagem, intervenções e avaliação de resultados - e fundamentadas na evidência científica mais atual. Por fim, uma dimensão reflexiva, onde serão analisadas as competências desenvolvidas e realizada uma reflexão crítica sobre a sua aquisição e sobre todo o processo de aprendizagem ao longo deste percurso académico. Esta análise visa consolidar as aprendizagens e integrá-las de forma mais completa no nosso perfil profissional, enquanto futuros Enfermeiros Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica.
Globalmente, consideramos que a nossa atuação no estágio permitiu a aquisição das competências que perseguimos e esperamos que este relatório possa contribuir não só para a definição do nosso perfil profissional futuro, mas também possa ser contributo para uma Enfermagem de Saúde mental e psiquiátrica mais significativa para as pessoas com necessidades de cuidados em saúde mental e, com especial enfoque, suas famílias.
This report aims to describe the journey undertaken throughout the professional internship included in the Master's Degree in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, focusing on the acquisition of both specific and common competencies defined by the Order of Nurses for the conferral of the title of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner. The overarching theme of this work is "An Insight into the Family: Conceptions and Interventions of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner ", serving as a structuring axis in the development of this report. However, the internship addressed all competencies of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner, and interventions in other areas of practice were also developed, reflecting the broad scope of the professional´s role. The report is structured into three main sections, corresponding, in our view, to three fundamental dimensions of the professional knowledge of the Psychiatric Mental Health and Psychiatric Nurse Practioner. A theoretical dimension, in which we present a literature review and the state of the art on the overarching theme, the Theoretical Nursing Models that underpinned our practice, the process of designing nursing care in the approach to the family—both as a context and as recipiente - of care, as well as the specialized intervention modalities aimed at the family at different levels of care. A practical dimension, where we outline the trajectory developed throughout the internships in different clinical settings, detailing the activities undertaken, always based on the nursing process—needs assessment/diagnostic activity, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and outcome evaluation—grounded in the most up-to-date scientific evidence. Finally, a reflective dimension, where the competencies developed are analyzed, along with a critical reflection on their acquisition and the entire learning process throughout this academic journey. This analysis aims to consolidate the acquired knowledge and integrate it more comprehensively into our professional profile as future Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner. Overall, we believe that our performance and the work developed during the internship allowed us to acquire the competencies we set out to achieve, and we hope that this report will not only contribute to the definition of our future professional profile but also serve as a contribution to a more meaningful Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing practice for individuals with mental health care needs and, with a particular focus, for their families.
