Abstract(s)
This paper presents a physical didactic model of a switched reluctance machine that allows students to modify the number of poles in the rotor and stator. This hands-on approach improves understanding of magnetization, torque behavior, control, and power circuits. Built with simple ferrous materials for low cost and accessibility, the model integrates experimental and active learning techniques. The benefits for learning and its integration with simulation tools for analyzing magnetic fields are also discussed.
