Abstract(s)
The European Union incremented and set guidelines and targets to be applied by its states members, in order to contribute to the global fight against climate change, a significant and sustainable reduction of emissions of the greenhouse gas effect and simultaneously, improving their situation in terms of energy security and competitiveness, advocated with the reduction of energy consumption, the use of energy from renewable indigenous sources and the diversification of primary energy sources (energy-mix). As such, Portugal has published various laws, as for: energy certification system of buildings, energy performance regulation for residential buildings and energy performance regulation for trade and services; the national plan for energy efficiency and renewable energy and the promotion of financing measures for plans to promote efficiency in consumption. In order to know the applicability of these measures to the reality of a hotel complex in Algarve, based on data provided by the hotel Monaco for the period 2012-2014, we proceed to its energy characterization and analysis of data on energy consumption and costs, justifying the developments, including the evolution of these with the acquisition of equipment and energy efficiency measures and the effectiveness of these.
