| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação centra-se no Arquitecto Francisco Conceição Silva, na sua obra, e mais especificamente, no Hotel do Mar, em Sesimbra. O objectivo do trabalho centra-se assim, na análise aprofundada sobre o arquitecto: as suas motivações, a sua formação enquanto artista e os seus edifícios construídos, dentro de um espectro arquitectónico. Numa primeira fase, procede-se ao estabelecimento de uma cronologia, na tentativa de situar o arquitecto no espaço e no tempo, tendo em atenção vários parâmetros, como a situação da Humanidade, a situação da Arquitectura numa classe mais global primeiro, mudando depois de escala para o território nacional, que é de facto, onde o interveniente actua. Surge em seguida uma biografia do arquitecto Conceição Silva, que pretende dar a entender a sua formação, a sua evolução enquanto Homem e enquanto arquitecto, a sua capacidade de lidar com as várias artes e conjugá-las livre e harmoniosamente com a “sua” arquitectura, entre outras. Pretende-se perceber qual a postura arquitectónica, as suas origens, o tipo de influências do autor e quais as suas intenções práticas no que respeita à organização do Hotel do Mar. O desafio lançado pelo proprietário do Hotel do Mar, é o ponto de charneira para o que viria a seguir, e o combustível necessário para fazer descolar o grande atelier, que durante alguns anos é o maior do nosso país. No fim das parcerias, lutas políticas, cargos administrativos, muita arquitectura e mobiliário, de ser o Homem por trás da máquina, do ataque violento à sua pessoa, surge o exílio para o Brasil, onde vai terminar a sua vida aos 60 anos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The following dissertation focuses on the Architect Francisco Conceição Silva, and in his work, more especifically, in the Hotel do Mar, Sesimbra. The main objective of this work it´s an analysis of his motivations, his formation as artist and his completed buildings, all of this from an architectural point of view. The first stage, it´s a chronological line, to locate the architect in space and time, considering several parameters, such as, the Humanity and the Architecture situation at that time, at a global level first, and then switching scale to a nacional level, where is the case of study. After this, appears a biography of the architect Conceição Silva, what indicates his formation, his evolution such as Man and Architect, his ability to deal with various arts and combines them, freely and harmoniously with “his” architecture, among others. Then, try to understand his architectural posture, his origins, the influences that drives him and what were his real intentions in the design of Hotel do Mar. The chellenge of this hotel, is the turning point for what comes next, and the so needed “fuel” to begin the “great atelier”, wich would be the biggest in Portugal for some years. In the end of the partnerships, politic fights, administrative positions, a lot of architecture and furniture, after being the man behind the machine and after suffering a violent personal attack, exiles in Brazil, where died at the age of 60. | pt_PT |
