Na atualidade a maior parte das organizações internacionais advogam a interoperabilidade, este conceito está vertido em diversas publicações da North Atlantic Treaty Organization bem como na União Europeia. Contudo da investigação deste trabalho resultam algumas lacunas nas frotas de transporte aéreo tático.
Nos teatros operacionais onde a Força Aérea está presente existem frequentemente outros operadores europeus com meios de transporte tático pelo que torna ainda mais relevante ser interoperável com os nossos parceiros europeus.
Este estudo tem por base uma análise qualitativa e quantitativa aliada a um raciocínio indutivo, partindo de um estudo de caso, o European Tactical Airlift Centre
Analisando o estado atual da interoperabilidade conclui-se que há vantagens operacionais em aumentar o nível de interoperabilidade e recomenda-se ações futuras para a Força Aérea explorar essas lacunas tendo em vista mitigar as mesmas assentando em protocolos internacionais. Abstract: Currently, most international organizations advocate interoperability, this concept is present in several publications from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as well as the European Union. However, during the investigative process of this paper results in some gaps in the interoperability in the tactical airlift fleets.
In the theater of operations where the Portuguese Air Force is present there is frequently a presence of other European operators with tactical airlift assets, which makes the capability of being interoperable between European partners even more relevant.
This study is base on qualitative and quantitative analysis combined with inductive reasoning, starting from a case study, the European Tactical Airlift Centre.
Analyzing the current state of interoperability, it is concluded that there are several operational advantages in increasing the level of interoperability between nations, there are also recommended future actions for the Portuguese Air Force to explore these gaps with the intent of mitigating them based on international protocols.
