A via, o veĆculo e homem, enquanto partes integrantes do ambiente rodoviĆ”rio, nem sempre tĆŖm estado Ć altura de uma coexistĆŖncia harmoniosa ou pacĆfica. Esta trilogia tem tido no homem o ator principal, pois Ć© ele quem decide. TĆŖm sido diversos os estudos, sortidas e mĆŗltiplas as medidas, diferentes os cĆ³digos, bem como variadas as conclusƵes, sempre na procura e na esperanƧa de se conseguir a redefiniĆ§Ć£o da sua intervenĆ§Ć£o no fenĆ³meno. Mas o preƧo a pagar nĆ£o tem parado de subir. A sinistralidade e o erro humano tĆŖm sido fortes aliados. Importa agora, numa visĆ£o holĆstica, revisitar o papel de cada um destes parceiros, entender a histĆ³ria, perceber a evoluĆ§Ć£o e o progresso, compreender a globalizaĆ§Ć£o e a sua velocidade e, especialmente, desenvolver soluƧƵes concretas, que permitam de forma segura e universal, resolver o problema da retirada do homem da equaĆ§Ć£o, na mesma proporĆ§Ć£o em que evolui a via e o veĆculo. | dc.description.abstract | Road mobility, its evolution and the guarantee that it is done freely, are critical factors for the progress of modern and civilized societies. At the same time, they are also a factor of prosperity and social welfare. The road, the vehicle and the human, as part of the road environment, have not always lived in harmonious or peaceful coexistence. The human has assumed a leading role in this trilogy, as the one who makes decisions. There have been multiple studies, assorted and different measures, various codes, as well as multiple conclusions, in an attempt to redefine its intervention in the phenomenon. However, the price to pay has continued climbing. Vehicle collisions and human error have walked hand in hand. It is now necessary, in a holistic view, to revisit the role of each of these parties, to know their history, evolution and progress, to understand globalization and its speed, and, most importantly, to develop concrete solutions that allow, in a safe and universal way, to solve the problem of reducing the human participation in this equation, leaving the center stage to the road and the vehicle.
