Abstract(s)
The main objective of this project is to evaluate the impact and influence that the Seven Arts – music, theatre and dance, painting, sculpture, architecture, literature and cinema – have in the perception and behavior of the tourists and how the countries, in this case Portugal, can use them in his favor, through the creation of thematic itineraries in the cities of Lisbon and Porto. For the sustainable and effective development of this project, a detailed theoretical reflection and framework was needed, specifically on the impacts of tourism at a national and international level and the relevance of tourism in a country's social, cultural and economic development. The investment in tourism has been a priority of destinations, that are more and more concerned with the study of ways to increase the number of visitors and consequently intensify the socio-economic impacts of this sector. As tourists are now more informed and demanding, it is vital that destinations are open to change and always ready to innovate. In this way, Rota das Artes emerges as a state-of-the-art proposal, that offers the tourists a new way to visit Portugal, with quality guides and itineraries, that are different from the competitors through the focus on thematic tourism and inspiration in the various arts - from literary tourism and cinema (already studied and developed by several authors) but also the other arts - music, dance and theater, painting, architecture and sculpture. The organization offers six itineraries in Lisbon and three in Porto and intends to perform 24 and 15 routes per month, respectively. It is expected a total revenue of 117120 €, at the end of the first year of activity.
