dc.description.abstractNo presente trabalho estabelece-se como objeto da investigação a nova posição da Républica Popular da China (RPC) na ordem mundial pós-covid. Constitui-se objetivo geral estimar em que medida esta nova posição suporá uma ameaça à segurança e defesa da União Europeia (UE) no espaço cognitivo. O estudo desenvolve-se com base numa estratégia qualitativa inserida num raciocínio dedutivo. Nesse marco, realiza-se um estudo de caso, no que a unidade de estudo é a política dos negócios estrangeiros chinesa. Define-se as atuações no domínio cognitivo europeu como o comportamento que se deseja estudar. Conclui-se que a RPC tenta atuar com base em três linhas de influência no espaço cognitivo europeu. Em primeiro lugar, visa deslegitimar a ordem internacional estabelecida, fundamentalmente através da deslegitimação histórica e moral. Em segundo lugar, tenta mostrar as fraquezas dos sistemas europeus através da geração de desconfiança nos partidos e dirigentes políticos, assim como no futuro da Europa. Por fim, tenta divulgar as virtudes do sistema chinês através de propaganda da sua tradição pacifista e da criação de uma imagem de país solvente, confiável e eficaz. Abstract: In the present work, new position of People Republic of China (PRC) in the post-covid world order is established as the object of the investigation. The general objective is to estimate how this new position will pose a threat to the security and defense of the European Union´s cognitive space. The study is developed based on a qualitative strategy inserted in a deductive reasoning. Within this framework, a case study is carried out, in which the study unit is the Chinese foreign affairs policy. The behavior to be studied encompass the actions over the European cognitive domain. It is concluded that the PRC tries to act based on three lines of influence in the European cognitive space. First, it seeks to delegitimize the established international order, fundamentally through historical and moral delegitimization. Second, it tries to show the weaknesses of European systems, by generating distrust in political parties and leaders, as well as in the future of Europe. Finally, it tries to publicize the virtues of the Chinese system through propaganda of its pacifist tradition and the creation of an image of a solvent, reliable and effective country.pt_PT
