A Atividade de Inteligência de Polícia Judiciária, espécie do gênero Inteligência de Segurança Pública, possui como missão central a produção de conhecimentos a fim de subsidiar a decisão nos diversos níveis de atuação da Polícia Judiciária. No nível operacional, assessora a investigação policial com foco na criminalidade organizada, realizando coletas e busca de dados para apontar caminhos, padrões e assessorar com um conhecimento especializado as investigações policiais. O crime organizado possui complexidades e características, que podem fazer os métodos tradicionais de investigação perder a eficiência, razão pela qual se vale da Inteligência Policial Judiciária com as suas ações especializadas para aumentar a efetividade das investigações. A proximidade da investigação policial com a Inteligência Policial Judiciária gera pontos de intersecção que quando não observados os limites doutrinários podem enfraquecer a eficácia da atividade de inteligência. The proximity of the police investigation to the Judiciary Police Intelligence generates points of intersection that when not observed the doctrinal limits can weaken the effectiveness of the intelligence activity.
