Abstract(s)

Caraterizar a insurgência, os seus movimentos e as suas motivações, torna necessária a interpretação dos dados existentes, analisando a informação disponibilizada e a interpretação ambígua dos acontecimentos, própria de quem os registou, dependentes do seu partido durante e após o conflito. Este estudo está limitado à análise dos insurgentes no período da Guerra de África específico do Teatro de Operações da Guiné-Bissau, no espaço temporal compreendido entre 1963 e 1974. A investigação realizou-se, essencialmente, com a consulta de documentos e estudos históricos de autores nacionais e internacionais Neste trabalho procuramos partir de uma situação geral, explorando a importância dos apoios e atores externos no sentido de entender a sua relevância para o desfecho do conflito, para uma situação particular caraterizando a génese do povo Guineense e a origem e organização do mais relevante dos movimentos insurgentes, o PAIGC. De todos os movimentos que lutaram pela independência da Guiné-Bissau, é do nosso entendimento que o PAIGC foi o único que teve sucesso tanto a nível militar como a nível diplomático. Abstract: Characterizing the insurgency, its movements and its motivations, makes it necessary to interpret the existing data, analyzing the provided information and the ambiguous interpretation of the events, specific to those who registered them, dependent on their party during and after the conflict. This study is limited to the analysis of insurgents in the period of the War of Africa specific to the Guinea-Bissau Operating Theater, in the time space between 1963 and 1974. The investigation was carried out, essentially, by means of documents and historical studies consultation from both national and international authors. In this document, we seek to start from a general situation exploring the importance of external support and actors in understanding their relevance to the outcome of the conflict, to a particular situation characterizing the genesis of the Guinean people, and the origin and organization of the insurgent movements, the PAIGC. Of all the movements that fought for Guinea-Bissau's independence, it is our understanding that the PAIGC was the only one was both militarily and diplomatically successful.
