Abstract(s)
The stability of an economy such as the Ecuadorian one (dollarized since 2000) is highly dependent on the ability to generate foreign exchange, and it is essential that this relationship culminate every year with a positive balance for the country, in order to avoid the increase of debt. This condition has motivated constant regulatory changes in the country, mainly in search of greater local production and to limit the increase in imports of products that can be manufactured locally. Given these facts, a window of opportunity opens to supply the construction sector with certain products that can not be manufactured in the country and are necessary to complement the real estate developments. Two products that have been identified are granite and marble, all the existing stock in the country is imported, and can become an additional line of business for those companies that already have an installed infrastructure and that are being affected by the changes To those products that matter but can be manufactured locally. The focus of the present study is based on the implementation of a new line of business within the same sector in which the company has been developing the construction.
