Abstract(s)
quer a nível histórico quer a nível atual.
Education is one of the fundamental pillars for the construction of society and, consequently, of everything that comes from it. Thus, considering that it is at school that children acquire the main knowledge for their growth, it is importante that it is assumed, increasingly, as a space where students, as well as adults, can exercise their rights – and dutiress – and, therefore, have a participatory role in their which will have na influence on their civic education. During my curricular internship, i developed the presente study, which was carried out at Elementary School, with the purpose of promoting a participatory and democratic civic education, using the debate as a fundamental strategy. It was based on the development of capacities, competences and attitudes inherent to the citizen componente, as well as in the awareness of social issues, which are relevant both historically and currently. In this investigation, it was necessary to resort to methodological options that were appropriate to the study, these are qualitative research and research on practice. Thus, data collection was carried out through observation, interview survey and questionnaire survey. Finally, the implementation of the debates was assumed as a strategy that fostered the active participation of the students in the moments, in which they expressed their opinions on the diferente topics, developing crucial skills for their civic education.
