Abstract(s)
This report refers to a curricular internship done at the company The Happy Gang, a publisher of educational games and supplies. The tasks performed during the internship called for knowledge and practices belonging to both illustration and design, standing out for their varied nature and flow of the work process. For this reason, we developed an investigation into the cross-cutting aspects of the design and illustration disciplines, which have shown to possess blurred boundaries and more aspects in common than apart. A critical analysis of the projects carried out revealed how these two disciplines cooperate, complement and merge in order to enable and enhance visual communication. The outcomes indicate that combining the work concerning these two areas of knowledge in the same person is a profitable resource, thus hinting that crossdisciplinarity could be a useful tool for creative practitioners.
