| dc.description.abstract | A capacidade resultante da interface entre a saúde militar e as informações militares, sob o conceito de Medical Intelligence, revela-se essencial na identificação, avaliação, mitigação e/ou resposta a riscos e ameaças de cariz médico-sanitário com impacto nas Forças Nacionais Destacadas e, consequentemente, com impacto na capacidade operacional das Forças Armadas portuguesas. Atendendo a esta realidade, torna-se primordial a realização de estudos de investigação no âmbito das ciências militares, particularmente na área do comportamento humano e saúde em contexto militar, que permitam compreender a importância central da Medical Intelligence no planeamento e condução de operações militares. Neste sentido, a presente investigação propõe o estudo da problemática da capacidade militar Medical Intelligence, tendo por base uma abordagem metodológica indutiva, utilizando métodos e técnicas qualitativas, com recurso essencialmente à análise de legislação nacional, publicações doutrinárias da Organização do Tratado do Atlântico Norte e a entrevistas realizadas a especialistas das áreas da saúde militar e das informações militares da estrutura da Defesa Nacional. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam, numa perspetiva holística e transdisciplinar, os benefícios da capacidade militar Medical Intelligence, bem como permitem compreender os seus elementos funcionais e conhecer os principais fatores internos e externos de influência no seu desenvolvimento nas Forças Armadas portuguesas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The capacity resulting from the interface between health and military intelligence, under the concept of Medical Intelligence, proves to be essential in the identification, assessment, mitigation and/or response to medical-sanitary risks and threats with impact on the Deployed National Forces and, consequently, with an impact on the operational capacity of the portuguese Armed Forces. Attending to this reality, it is essential conduct research studies in the field of military sciences, particularly in the area of health and human behaviour in a military context, which allows the understanding of the main importance of Medical Intelligence in planning and conducting of military operations. Having this in mind, the present investigation proposes to address the issue of Medical Intelligence, as a military capacity, in the portuguese Armed Forces, based on an inductive methodological approach, using qualitative methods and techniques, namely, the analysis of national legislation, doctrinal publications of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and interviews with specialists in the field of health and military intelligence of the National Defense structure. The obtained results show, from a holistic and transdisciplinary perspective, the benefits of having a military Medical Intelligence capability, as well as allow for a better understanding of its functional elements and knowledge of the internal and external factors influencing its development within the portuguese Armed Forces. | pt_PT |
