Abstract(s)
estruturas e máquinas, saúde pública e p erturbação causada no meio ambiente. No
The implementation of absorb ers and insulators as a management strategy and vibration control proved to b e an asset when applied to structures or equipment, allowing a slower deterioration, as we ll as a smaller numb er of unplanned interventi ons. The analysis of the le vel of vibrations is increasingly considered a concern, for b oth publi c health reasons and the disturbance c aused in the environment. In the maritime environment, this theme is even more re levant since marine ecosystems are extremely rich in their bio diversity a nd equally sensitive to external disturbances. The main ob jective of this investigation was to identify and deep en the knowledge of i so lation and absorb er techniques on b oard ships, and the mo deli ng, design and construction of a vibration absorption mechanism. At last, testing in free and forced vibration. In order to achieve the stated ob jective, it was essential to carry out a thorough study of di erent mo dels of absorb ers, and theoretical concepts related to the pro jecti on of these mechanisms. From a practical p oint of view, an exp erimental research was carried out where the main variables capable of in uencing the frequency of the ob ject under analysis were studi ed, and de ning which values are require d to obtain a system capable of replying to the design needs. This study contributed to denote the i mp ortance of the knowl edge of subjects such as vibration absorption and isolation, and to build academic to ols for future studies in the area.
