A existência de terrenos baldios é muito antiga e remonta quase às primeiras sociedades agrárias.A de organização, gestão, e mesmo a utilização efetuado pelas populações que usufruem desses territórios foram sofrendo alterações ao longo do tempo, e hoje em dia possuem diferentes modelos de organização e funcionalidade de acordo com essa evolução histórica.Este trabalho aborda a evolução histórica dos baldios e esboça o papel exercido pelos compartes, população, estado e gestores, como atores dessas mudanças e transformação.É efetuada a caraterização dos baldios do Coentral no Concelho de Castanheira de Pera, são identificados os recursos naturais deste território e é avaliada a importância em termos de biodiversidade. Abordam-se neste trabalho as formas de gestão associadas aos baldios, o modo como estão a ser ocupadas e a importância que representam para as populações locais
The existence of empty lots is ancient and dates back almost to the first agricultural societies.The organisation, management and even the use of this lots, by the population, have changed through time and today they hold different formats of organisation and function, according to their historical evolution.This paper approaches the historic evolution of the empty lots and outlines the role of the population, State and managers, as key players of those adjustments and changes.A characterisation of the empty lots of Coentral, in Castanheira de Pera county is made, the natural resources of territory are identified and its importance regarding the local biodiversity is evaluated.In this paper are addressed the management of methods associated with empty lots, the way they are occupied and the importance they have for the local population.
