O processo de envelhecimento aliado a mudanças fisiológicas e o nível de saúde periodontal comprometido pode revelar-se complexo e imprevisível. Para se proceder a uma reabilitação oral é crucial o acompanhamento periodontal, pelo que, a reabilitação oral protética e a periodontologia são especialidades que se encontram intimamente relacionadas e são interdependentes. Assim, um bom planeamento protético passa por um correto planeamento periodontal e vice-versa.
O caso clínico retrata todas as consultas efetuadas e agendadas para conclusão do tratamento. Aborda e dá relevo ao diagnóstico periodontal, tratamentos periodontais e posterior descrição da reabilitação oral, como forma de colocação de implantes, coroas sobre implantes e reabilitação protética fixa com coroas em cerâmica. Tendo em vista um resultado expectável estético, por meio de critérios que o permitem alcançar, caracteriza as etapas essenciais para poder ir de encontro às expectativas do paciente. Assim, para além de, conhecendo as alterações inerentes ao envelhecimento, os critérios para alcançar o objetivo estético e o conhecimento para efetuar os procedimentos clínicos do caso, é crucial a manutenção da motivação do paciente. O caso é multidisciplinar e muito completo, abrangendo áreas como Dentisteria, Reabilitação Oral, Periodontologia, Cirurgia e Implantologia.
The aging process coupled with physiological changes and the level of compromised periodontal health may prove to be complex and unpredictable. To perform an oral rehabilitation, periodontal monitoring is crucial, oral prosthetic rehabilitation and periodontics are specialities that are closely related and interdependent. Thus, good prosthetic planning undergoes correct periodontal planning and vice versa. The clinical case depicts all the consultations made and scheduled for completion of the treatment. It addresses and gives emphasis to an initial periodontal approach, periodontal treatments and subsequent description of oral rehabilitation, as a form of placement of implants, crowns on implants and fixed prosthetic rehabilitation with ceramic crowns. In view of a final, expected aesthetic result, by means of criteria that allow it to be reached, it characterizes the essential steps to be able to meet the expectations of the patient. Thus, in addition to knowing the changes inherent in aging, the criteria to achieve the aesthetic objective and the knowledge to perform the clinical procedures of the case, it is crucial to maintain patient motivation. The case is multidisciplinary and very complete, covering areas such as Dentistry, Oral Rehabilitation, Periodontology, Surgery and Implantology.
