Avaliação da dor pós-operatória em pacientes sujeitos a tratamentos cirúrgicos periodontais através da escala visual analógica

Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Avaliar a dor após cirurgias periodontais e a sua relação com a idade, género, hábitos tabágicos, técnica realizada, duração da cirurgia, número de dentes envolvidos, cumprimento da medicação e cuidados pós-operatórios e tipos de cirurgia periodontal (ressetiva, regeneradora e plástica).
Materiais e Métodos: Foram aplicados questionários a 63 pacientes submetidos a cirurgias periodontais na Pós-graduação de Periodontologia na Clinica Universitária
Egas Moniz.
Os dados foram recolhidos através do preenchimento de dois questionários. O primeiro foi entregue no dia da cirurgia com a Escala Visual Analógica. Solicitou-se ao paciente o preenchimento do mesmo nos 3 dias que se seguiam à cirurgia e, também no dia da remoção da sutura. Devolvendo-o nesse dia. O segundo questionário foi constituído por duas partes e foi aplicado pelo aluno. A primeira parte no dia da cirurgia com a finalidade da recolha de dados da História Clínica e referentes à cirurgia; e a segunda parte no dia da remoção da sutura com o cumprimento dos cuidados pósoperatórios.
Resultados: O grau de dor pós-operatória não está dependente dos fatores: género, doença periodontal, tipo de cirurgia periodontal (regeneradora, ressetiva e plástica), técnica realizada, dentes envolvidos, duração da cirurgia, antibiótico, gel e colutório de clorohexidina, ausência de controlo mecânico e ausência de exercício físico. Por outro lado, o grau de dor pós-operatória está dependente dos fatores idade, hábitos tabágicos, interrupção dos hábitos tabágicos, uso de AINEs e duração de AINEs.
Conclusões: Não foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre a dor pós-operatoria e os diferentes tipos de cirurgias periodontais. Por outro lado, foi encontrada uma correlação entre a dor pós-operatória e a idade, hábitos tabágicos e a
sua interrupção e com a toma ou não de AINEs e a sua duração.
Aims: Evaluation of pain after periodontal surgeries and their relationship with age, gender, smoking habits, technique performed, duration of surgery, number of teeth involved, medication compliance and postoperative care and types of periodontal surgery (ressetive, regenerative and plastic). Materials and Methods: Questionnaires were applied to 63 patients submitted to periodontal surgeries at the Postgraduation of Periodontology at the Clínica Universitária Egas Moniz. Data was collected through the completion of two questionnaires. The first was delivered on the day of surgery with the Visual Analogue Scale. The patient was asked to fill it in 3 days after surgery and also on the day of removal of the suture. Returning it on that day. The second questionnaire was composed of two parts and was applied by the student. The first part on the day of surgery for the purpose of collecting data from the Clinical History and referring to surgery; and the second part on the day of suture removal about post-operative care. Results: The degree of postoperative pain is not dependent with gender, periodontal disease, type of periodontal (regenerative, restive and plastic) surgery, technique performed, teeth involved, duration of surgery, antibiotic, chlorhexidine gel and mouthwash, absence of mechanical control and absence of physical exercise. On the other hand, the degree of postoperative pain is dependent on factors such as age, smoking habits, smoking cessation, use of NSAIDs and duration of NSAIDs. Conclusions: No statistically significant differences were found between postoperative pain and the different types of periodontal surgeries. On the other hand, a correlation was found between postoperative pain and age, smoking habits and their interruption, and whether or not NSAIDs were taken and their duration.
