Abstract(s)
pessoa e família dependente no autocuidado.
With the increase in average life expectancy and the prevalence of chronic diseases, there is a significant increase in the level of dependency in Portugal. Since chronic diseases can generate processes in which self-care is compromised, there is a concern about understanding the experience of people with self-care deficits and their caregivers. Faced with the challenges arising from the situation of dependence, specific self-care needs arise, in which the person needs to find new ways of carrying it out and in which it is essential to train the person or family for their new health condition. Given that the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing is equipped with a set of specific skills in the field of self-care, the aim was to identify the Rehabilitation Nursing interventions that enabled the training of the dependent person and family in self-care. Throughout the different internship contexts, a situation diagnosis was carried out, specific objectives were defined based on the needs felt and interventions were implemented, meeting the specificity of each area of specialty and evaluating the impact of the interventions through evaluation instruments. The entire process allowed for a better understanding of the phenomenon of dependence experienced by the person and family in different contexts, and what needs they present, as well as contributing to the development of common and specific skills of the rehabilitation nurse in the context of people with respiratory, neurological, orthotraumatology, community, palliative care and the development of skills in the area of research that are fundamental for the master's degree.
