Abstract(s)
A presente investigação tem por objeto de estudo o dispositivo para intervenção em
caso de catástrofe, tendo por base o foco na saúde militar e na sua capacidade de apoiar as
entidades primárias responsáveis pela gestão neste tipo de eventos. O Objetivo Geral é
analisar as capacidades com as quais as Forças Armadas podem colaborar na intervenção em
situação de catástrofe. Foca-se numa situação particular, que são os eventos sísmicos, e está
circunscrito geograficamente à região de Lisboa. Assim, efetua-se uma revisão da literatura
para definir um modelo normalmente seguido para resposta a estes eventos, para validar a
prática implementada no tema em apreço. Através de um raciocínio indutivo e uma estratégia
de investigação qualitativa, baseada em análise documental, validaram-se quais as
capacidades necessárias para atuar em catástrofe. De seguida aferiu-se que as Forças
Armadas tinham essas capacidades e validou-se com quais conseguem complementar o
dispositivo.

The purpose of this research is to study the mechanism for intervention in the event of a disaster, based on the focus on military health and on its ability to support the primary entities responsible for management in this type of event. The objective is to analyze the capabilities with which the Armed Forces can collaborate in the intervention in catastrophic situation. It focuses on a particular situation, which is the seismic events, and is geographically circumscribed to the region of Lisbon. It begins with a review of the literature, in order to define a model normally followed to respond to these events, to validate the practice implemented in the subject under consideration. Through an inductive reasoning and qualitative research strategy, based on documentary analysis, it was validated the necessary capacities to act in catastrophe. Later, it was verified that the Armed Forces had these capabilities and was validated with which they can complement the device.
