This thesis explores the positive effects of rustic design on well-being and stress reduction, contrasting its impact with non-rustic design environments. Employing a qualitative approach, this study delves into how different interior design styles influence psychological comfort. Through thematic analysis of survey responses, it was found that rustic designs, characterized by their use of natural materials and a cohesive aesthetic, significantly enhance well-being by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and fostering deeper personal connections. These environments are perceived as more comforting and restorative compared to the more dynamic and visually stimulating non-rustic designs, which, while energetically appealing, do not provide the same level of tranquility. This research underscores the therapeutic potential of rustic aesthetics in interior design and highlights the importance of integrating natural elements to support mental health and stress reduction. The findings contribute to the broader discourse on sustainable design practices, suggesting that enhancing well-being through design is not only beneficial for individual health but also for fostering environments that support psychological resilience.pt_PT
