| dc.description.abstract | Atualmente, assiste-se à aceleração tecnológica, à emergência de novos desafios e ameaças, e à obsolescência do F16 Mid-Life-Update (F16MLU) português, que influenciarão o paradigma de emprego do Poder Aeroespacial (PA) nacional no Ambiente Operacional Futuro (AOF). Sendo o PA, e consequentemente o F16MLU, instrumento fulcral na consecução e salvaguarda dos interesses nacionais, é necessário preparar a sua substituição. Este estudo investiga a substituição do F16MLU e entrada na 5.ª Geração, tendo por base: análise documental sobre paradigmas futuros de emprego do PA; análise de questionários e entrevistas a representantes de países operadores, e não-operadores, de sistemas de armas de 5.ª Geração (SA5G); análise documental da integração de SA5G em Forças Aéreas estrangeiras. Recorrendo a uma metodologia de raciocínio indutivo, assente numa investigação qualitativa e no desenho de pesquisa de estudo de caso, concluiu-se que o substituto do F16MLU necessitará de ser Low Observable, ter fusão de sensores e integrar o conceito futuro de Guerra de 5.ª Geração para vencer a ameaça futura aos interesses nacionais, os sistemas Anti-Access/Area-Denial. A sua integração na FA deverá ser em conjunto com os outros ramos das FFAA, a indústria e a sociedade civil, alicerçando-se em mudanças organizacionais, culturais e de mentalidade nos seus militares. Abstract: We are witnessing technological acceleration, the emergence of new challenges and threats and the obsolescence of the Portuguese Air Force (PrtAF) F16 Mid-Life-Update (F16MLU), all of which will influence the employment of the national Air and Space Power (ASP) in the Future Operating Environment. Being the ASP, and therefore the F16MLU, a crucial instrument in achieving the national interests, it´s paramount to prepare its replacement. This study investigates the replacement of the F16MLU and embracement of the 5th Generation (5G), based on the research of future employment concepts of ASP, the analysis of questionnaires and interviews to representatives of 5G operating, and non-operating, countries and the study of integration of 5G platforms in other airforces. Based on an inductive reasoning methodology, with a qualitative research strategy and a case study research design, it was concluded that the F16MLU replacement will need to be Low Observable, operate sensor fusion, and integrate the 5th Generation Air Warfare in order to protect the national interests from its future threat, the Anti-Access/Area-Denial weapons. Its integration in the PrtAF needs to be joint with the other armed forces service branches, the national industry, and the civilian society, founded in organizational, cultural and mentality adjustments. | pt_PT |
