Abstract(s)
A metodologia utilizada
The objective of this study is to provide accurate information that helps to define strategies and improvement plans and contribute to a reduction in the labor accident rate in companies in the logistics sector, based on a study carried out at the Decathlon Logistics Center, in Setubal. The methodology used was based on the realization, in a real context, of a study in the Decathlon Logistics center that focused on a population of 204 workers. A semi-structured interview was carried out with the security technician to obtain his perception of the accident rate analysis and a drive with company information filled in monthly by the security technician was analyzed. Regarding the data obtained, it appears that in terms of personal determinants, the Decathlon CAR has a gender distribution in which the female sex predominates. The company is largely made up of young workers and half of the company has a fixed-term contract with a high incidence of part-time work. The company has several employees of around 204, had about 31 accidents reported in a period of eight months. The situation has become worrying as, in the months of July and August, 16 accidents have already been recorded. When analyzing the causes and reasons, everything focuses on the same factor: Manual Handling of Cargo. The teams most affected are E-commerce and Bulky and the tasks are mostly consolidation, packaging, and order preparation. We may be facing a problem of lack of information or lack of motivation and attitude in most cases. It may also be necessary to verify some psychosocial factors in the cause of some accidents. This study reveals a base of results that shows not only the successes, but also the failures found in the constant search for solutions of risk assessments and implementation of adequate measures to avoid the occurrence of accidents. Therefore, this study will serve as a guideline for the safety technician responsible for the CAR, to make a more framed and efficient planning with reality and to achieve the goal of zero (0) annual accidents.
