O APOIO LOGÍSTICO AO CEP NA PRIMEIRA GUERRA MUNDIAL:Comparação entre a Doutrina Portuguesa e Inglesa e a Adequação do Apoio Logístico às Necessidades do CEP

| dc.description.abstract | O presente Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada, subordinado ao tema “O Apoio Logístico ao Corpo Expedicionário Português (CEP) na primeira Guerra Mundial” e o seu estudo de caso constitui uma comparação entre a doutrina portuguesa e inglesa e a adequação do apoio logístico às necessidades do CEP, inserindo-se na conclusão do mestrado integrado em Ciências Militares, na especialidade de Infantaria, realizado na Academia Militar. O objetivo geral deste trabalho é analisar e descrever o apoio logístico prestado pelas forças inglesas, compará-las com o apoio prestado pelo CEP e verificar se estes atenderam às necessidades do CEP. No decurso deste trabalho foram elaboradas diversas questões derivadas de modo a responder à questão central “O apoio logístico ao CEP foi realizado consoante a doutrina inglesa e adequado à realidade da força?”. Tendo esse objetivo em vista, a metodologia usada assentou na pesquisa de fontes documentais, assim como em obras publicadas e em documentos existentes no Arquivo Histórico Militar. Verificou-se que o envio de forças portuguesas para a Flandres, de modo a proteger os interesses da nação, obrigou a uma reestruturação das forças portuguesas e a uma mudança brusca de hábitos, técnicas, procedimentos e doutrina. Procurámos estudá-los e perceber a influência do apoio logístico inglês na reestruturação, assim como a sua influência nas operações do CEP e a vivência dos militares que o formavam. Neste estudo verificámos o modo como o apoio logístico foi efetuado quer às forças inglesas, quer às forças portuguesas destacadas na Flandres, assim como as limitações deste e a sua influência nas forças do CEP. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract The current Work of Applied Research (TIA), subordinated to the theme - "The Logistics Support of the Portuguese Expeditionary Corps (CEP) in the first World War" and its case study is the comparison between British and Portuguese doctrine and the adequacy of the logistic support needs of the CEP, is part of the Integrated Master’s Degree of Military Science, specializing in Infantry, held at the Portuguese Military Academy. The aim of this study is to analyse and describe the logistical support provided by British forces, compare them with the support provided by the CEP and see if they met the needs of the CEP. During this work several issues arose in order to respond to the central question "was the logistical support to the CEP conducted according to the English doctrine and appropriate to the reality of the force?”. With this goal in view, the methodology used was based on documentary research sources or published works, either in existing military historical archive documents. It was found that sending Portuguese forces to Flanders in order to protect the interests of the nation, forced a restructuring of the Portuguese forces and a sudden change of habits, techniques, procedures and doctrine. We aimed to study them and understand the influence of the British logistics support, as well as its influence in CEP’s operations and its soldiers. In this study we noticed how the logistical support was made either to the English and the Portuguese forces deployed in Flanders, as well as its flaws and limitations and the influence on the CEP forces. | por |
