Abstract(s)
O presente relatório, intitulado “O desenvolvimento da criança em creche e
jardim de infância através da expressão plástica”, descreve a investigação realizada no
âmbito das unidades curriculares, Estágio em Educação de Infância e Seminário de
Investigação e de Projeto do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar. Este desenvolveu-se
ao longo de quatro momentos distintos em duas instituições no distrito de Setúbal, uma
creche e um jardim-de-infância.
Como motivação, parti da observação, em contexto de estágio, do espaço e da
importância dados à expressão plástica em dois locais diferentes. Na creche, a área
destinada às atividades de expressão plástica não estava muito desenvolvidada em
comparação com as outras áreas da sala, apresentando poucos materiais e,
consequentemente, pouca procura pelas crianças. Além disso, não lhes eram propostas
tarefas deste domínio. No jardim-de-infância, por outro lado, as crianças tinham um
contacto regular com atividades e a área da expressão plástica.
Para dar início às ações de investigação, estabeleci como pergunta de
investigação “Como potenciar o desenvolvimento da criança em creche e no jardim-de-
infância através da expressão plástica?”. Nesse sentido, considerando as
características do trabalho a desenvolver e os seus intervenientes, optei por uma
estratégia metodológica de natureza qualitativa, de carácter descritivo.
Numa primeira fase recolhi várias notas de campo para registar as observações
realizadas. Posteriormente efetuei uma análise documental do Projeto Educativo de
cada instituição e também do Projeto Pedagógico e ainda uma entrevista
semiestruturada a cada educadora cooperante, de modo a obter mais informações para
a investigação.
Com base nas informações recolhidas, as intervenções descritas e analisadas
neste estudo foram selecionadas tendo em conta a sua pertinência em relação ao tema
do projeto, uma vez que intervim no sentido de promover o contacto com a expressão
plástica através da interdisciplinaridade.
Este estudo permite compreender a importância da expressão plástica na
infância, assim como os benefícios provenientes deste contacto para o desenvolvimento
das crianças.
This report, entitled “The development of children in daycare centers and kindergartens through plastic expression”, describes the research carried out within the scope of the curricular units, Internship in Early Childhood Education and Research and Project Seminar of the Master's Degree in Preschool Education. School. This developed over four distinct moments in two institutions in the district of Setúbal, a daycare center and a kindergarten. As motivation, I started from observing, in an internship context, the space and importance given to plastic expression in two different locations. At the daycare center, the area dedicated to plastic expression activities was not very developed compared to other areas of the room, with few materials and, consequently, little demand for children. Furthermore, they were not offered tasks in this field. In kindergarten, on the other hand, children had regular contact with activities and the area of plastic expression. To begin the research actions, I established the research question as “How to enhance the child’s development in daycare and kindergarten through plastic expression?”. In this sense, considering the characteristics of the work to be developed and its actors, I opted for a methodological strategy of a qualitative nature, of a descriptive nature. Initially, I collected several field notes to record the observations made. Subsequently, I carried out a documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Project of each institution and also of the Pedagogical Project and also a semi-structured interview with each collaborating educator, in order to obtain more information for the research. Based on the information collected, the interventions described and analyzed in this study were selected taking into account their relevance in relation to the project theme, as they intervened to promote contact with plastic expression through interdisciplinarity. This study allows us to understand the importance of plastic expression in childhood, as well as the benefits arising from this contact for children's development.
