Abstract(s)
temporal.
The effectiveness of the operating room as an environment of safe health care practice has become a worldwide concern in which it is necessary to use a multifaceted strategy to increase safety in care, through the change in the culture of the operating room and improvement of the team's communication. “Increase Surgical Safety” is the 3rd Strategic Objective of the National Plan for Patient Safety 2015-2020 and will be evaluated through the study that arises under the Protocol of the DGS with the Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa ( ESEL). As a general objective, it is proposed to “Evaluate the SO3 Increase surgical safety, within the scope of the PNSD 2015-2020.” through the data instrument provided by the DGS. There has been a growing trend in the participation of institutions over the years. However, there are data and information that we do not have access to, either due to the anonymity of the database or because it depends on information from the SPMS, that make it difficult to perform a global analysis of this Strategic Objective, including in order to confirm whether the action was successful in terms of comparability with the goal. Improving the assessment of SO3 implies standardizing the assessment process and indicators, defining data collection, reporting and auditing instruments so that they allow real comparability of results between institutions and their temporal assessment.
